Our Intro Program - Burn In

Many of the more reputable training facilities have an intro program to teach the fundamentals of complex, multi-joint movements.

Our intro program is called 'Burn In'.

What is 'Burn In'?

We borrow this term from the conventional ritual of breaking in a new car engine. For the first few thousand miles we pay special attention to it, change the oil more frequently, spend more time polishing it, and testing its performance in every way to understand the scope of its ability.

For our purposes, the 'Burn In' period is the ramping-up stage of training in which you will learn and work through fundamental movements, improving upon your current level of fitness and quality of motion. Participation in Burn In, or in one-on-one personal training sessions called "Fundamentals", is a requirement prior to joining our regular classes.

Our aim in offering the Burn In program is to get to know you, understand your strengths and weaknesses, and to build a solid foundation for a lifetime of healthy movement. Regardless of whether you think you will be doing Chrysalis-type training over the long term or not, the Burn In program offers information and coaching you can use no matter which training regimen you choose to pursue. You can give us a try by doing our intro program and decide where you want to go from there.

Program Overview

  • Duration: 6 sessions, minimum 2 participants.

  • Frequency: 1 to 2 sessions per week for 2 hours each.

  • Curriculum: athletes are introduced to a minimum of 25 fundamental movements* and receive a certificate to that effect at the end of the program.

  • Cost: $350 + tax covers training time and all required training & study materials.

*Dependent on participant history, availability and current fitness level.

Burn In classes run year-round, depending on demand. Because we limit our class size to four athletes, this is one of the safest, most individualized ways to learn movement fundamentals.
